“The country has been taken aback after a section of members of parliament cast the integrity of Kenya’s law making institution into disrepute , briefly disrupting President Uhuru Kenyatta’s state of the nation address. National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and his Senate counterpart Ekwee Ethuro were forced to invoke house standing orders to eject errant ODM MPs who frantically interrupted the President’s speech with loud whistle blows and heckling. Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang were forcefully ejected from the joint session of parliament after they resisted orders from the respective speakers. Chemutai Goin witnessed the unusual events in parliament that also saw four other opposition MPs ejected” (K24TV, 2016)
